IBPS RRB Notification 2026: Exam Dates Out, Application Form To Be Released Soon

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection will release the notification for the recruitment of Office Assistant (Clerk), Officer Scale I (PO), Officer Scale II, and Officer Scale III in the Regional Rural Banks for around 14,000 vacancies, most probably in early September 2026. Last year, they released it for a total number of 13,316 vacancies, whose distribution is available in the table below. 

Once they have released the number of vacancies for the IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026, we will update the post-wise number of vacancies shortly.

Eligibility Criteria 

To apply for the Office Assistant (Clerk), Officer Scale I (PO), Officer Scale II, or Officer Scale III position, you must meet the eligibility requirements for the respective positions.

• Office Assistant (Multipurpose): You have pursued a bachelor’s degree in any subject and are between 18 and 28 years old.
• Officer Scale I (Assistant Manager or Probationary Officer): You have completed a bachelor’s degree and aren’t younger than 18 and 30 years.
• Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer): You have a bachelor’s degree in any subject with 50% marks as an aggregate, your age is between 21 and 32 years, and you also have a minimum of 2 years of banking experience.
• Officer Scale II (Agriculture Officer): You have a bachelor’s degree in agriculture or an allied discipline, are between 21 and 32 years old, and have at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Officer Scale II (Marketing Officer): You have completed an MBA (Marketing), are not younger than 21 or older than 32 years, and have at least a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Officer Scale II (Treasury Manager): You have passed the CA Final Examination or complete MBA (Finance); fall between the ages of 21 and 32 years; and have at least a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Officer Scale II (Law Officer): You have completed a bachelor’s degree in law, are between the ages of 21 and 32 years, and have at least a minimum of 2 years of legal experience.
• Officer Scale II (Chartered Accountant): You have cleared the Chartered Accountant (CA) Final, are now between 21 and 32 years old, and have at least a minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Officer Scale II (IT Officer): You pursued a bachelor’s degree in computer science, infotainment technology, or a related field; are not below 21 and above 32 years; and have at least a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Officer Scale III (Senior Manager): You have completed a bachelor’s degree in any subject with 50% marks, are between the ages of 21 and 40 years, and have a minimum of 5 years of banking experience.

Application Fee

In order to apply for the IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026, you have to pay the application fee of 850 rupees. The payable amount for the candidates who belong to Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and Persons with Benchmark Disability is required to pay the application fee of 175 rupees. To deposit the required application fee, you can use a debit card, credit card, NET banking, or UPI. 

Selection Process 

The selection processes for the IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026 vary from one another for different positions. For the office assistant, it consists of a preliminary exam and a main examination, and for the officer scale I, it also includes an interview; and for the officer scales II and III, it consists of two stages, which are an online examination and an interview.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection will prepare the final selection list based on candidate performance in the main examination for the office assistant, the main examination and interview for officer scale I with 80:20 weightage, and the online examination and interview for the last officer scale II and III positions with 80:20 weightage.

Exam Date 

The preliminary exam and main examination will take place on 21 & 22 November 2026 and 20 December 2026, respectively, for the position of Officer Scale I, but for the Office Assistant, the prelims will take place on 6, 12, and 13 December 2026, and the main on 30 January 2027. The single online examination for Officer Scales II & III will be held on 20 December 2026.

The window to apply for the IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026 will be available with the release of the notification brochure. Note that the application form is expected to be available online on the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection’s official website, https://ibps.in/, from early September 2026, and is expected to last four weeks for all aspirants so all eligible candidates can apply.
