PNB LBO Recruitment 2026: Application Form For 545 Vacancies Available 

On July 20, 2026, the Punjab National Bank released a notification for recruitment of Local Bank Officer (LBO), Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I) at various branches across the country for a total number of 545 vacancies, including 219 for UR, 107 for OBC-NCL, 75 for EWS, 93 for SC, and 51 for ST. Refer to the table below to check the number of vacancies for a circle-wise number of positions with reservation details.

Out of total vacancies, 29 are horizontally reserved for the candidates belonging to the Person with Benchmark Disability category, whose breakdown is available below:

• Gujarat: OC-1, HI-1, VI-0, ID-1
• Karnataka: OC-1, HI-1, VI-1, ID-1
• Maharashtra: OC-2, HI-1, VI-1, ID-1
• Telangana: OC-1, HI-1, VI-1, ID-1
• Tamil Nadu: OC-1, HI-1, VI-1, ID-1
• West Bengal: OC-1, HI-1, VI-1, ID-1
• Jammu & Kashmir: OC-1
• Assam: OC-0, HI-1, VI-1, ID-1
• Tripura: HI-1

Eligibility Criteria 

In order to apply for the recruitment of LBO under the PNB, you must have pursued a Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a university recognised by the University Grant Commission; you aren’t younger than 20 years and older than 30 years as of July 1, 2026; and have at least one year work experience as an Officer or Clerk in a Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank.

If you are above the age of 30 years, you can claim relaxation for 3 years if you belong to OBC-NCL, for individuals belonging to SC and ST category, the same is 5 years. There’s an additional age relaxation for 10 years for PwBD category candidates.

Application Fee

To apply for the PNB Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026, you have to pay the non-refundable application fee of 850 rupees. If you belong to the Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Caste, or Person with Benchmark Disability category, you only have to pay the amount of 175 rupees.

The payment of the application fee can be made using a debit card, credit card, NET banking or UPI. Ensure you deposit the required amount by the deadline set by Punjab National Bank, which is August 9, 2026. 

Selection Process 

The selection process for Local Bank Officers recruitment under the Punjab National Bank consists mainly of two stages, which are Online Written Examination, Language Proficiency Test, and Personal Interview. The PNB will prepare a final selection list based on score in the first and last stage with a weightage of 80:20.

Exam Date & Pattern 

The Punjab National Bank hasn’t yet announced the date for the online written examination. Candidates who have applied to sit in it are hereby notified that it will take place probably in September 2026. They will be conducted for a time duration of 3 hours, asking 150 objective-type questions from five different subjects, whose details are below.

Each question carries a weightage of 1 mark, and there’s also a provision of negative marking of 0.25 mark. The medium of the examination is set to be English and Hindi, except for the English Language section.

Pay Scale 

If you are appointed as Local Bank Officer under the Punjab National Bank at any branch, you will get a starting basic pay of 48,480 rupees with additional benefits which includes dearness allowance, house rent allowance, city compensatory allowance, medical benefits, and others.
