OPSC AEE Recruitment 2026 Notification Out for 46 Posts, Apply Online from August 11

On August 4, 2026, the Odisha Public Service Commission released a notification for the recruitment of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) under the Odisha Municipal Engineering Service, Housing & Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha, for a total number of 46 vacancies, including 31 for males and 15 for females. 

The window to apply for the OPSC AAE (Civil) 2026 is all set to be available on the Odisha Public Service Commission’s official website, http://opsc.gov.in/, on August 11, 2026, and will last until September 11, 2026. To apply, first you have to register and then log in to submit the application form with details and documents.

Eligibility Criteria 

You can apply for the OPSC AEE (Civil) Recruitment 2026 if you are an Indian citizen and have a Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Civil Engineering from an institution recognized by the All India Council of Technical Education, or you are an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers in Civil Engineering; and you are between the ages of 21 and 42 years.

Additionally, you must be able to read, write, and speak Odia. If you are above the age of 42 years but meet the other requirements, you can claim age relaxation, which is 5 years for all female aspirants and only those male individuals who belong to SC, ST, SEBC, and PwBD.

Application Fee 

To apply for the OPSC AEE (Civil) recruitment in 2026, you have to deposit the fully refundable application fee of 700 rupees. For candidates who belong to Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, and Persons with Benchmark Disability, there’s no provision for the application fee payment.

If you belong to the Unreserved or Socially & Economically Backward Class, you have to pay the application fee by September 11, 2026, by 05:00 pm. To pay it, you can use any of the online payment gateways, such as a debit card, credit card, NET banking, or UPI. You will get the refund only if you pass the selection process’s first stage.

Selection Process 

The selection process for the recruitment of AEE (Civil) consists mainly of three stages, which are preliminary examination, main examination, and personality test. If the OPSC accepts your application form, they will call you for the first stage, which is scheduled for November 8, 2026.

If you pass the preliminary examination, they will call you for the main examination, whose date is still pending but expected to take place in January 2027. Even if you clear the second stage, the commission will call you for the final stage, whose date is still undisclosed but will take place around March 2026.

After the successful conduct of all three stages, the Odisha Public Service Commission will prepare the final selection list based on aspirants’ scores in the last two stages. They will shortlist you for an appointment only if your score meets or exceeds the cut-off marks for your category.

Exam Pattern 

The OPSC will most probably conduct the preliminary examination for the OPSC AEE (Civil) recruitment 2026 most probably in CBT mode, in which they will ask 100 MCQs from Civil Engineering, each of 1 mark. There will also be a provision of negative marking; for each incorrect response, they will deduct 0.25 marks from the correct one. The medium is set to be only English, and the time duration to solve all questions will be only 1.5 hours. 

The main examination consists of two papers, which are General Studies and Civil Engineering. In Paper 1, there will be 100 MCQs, and in Paper 2, there will be 150 MCQs. Each question carries a weightage of 2 marks, with a provision of 0.5 marks for negative marking. The examination time duration for Paper 1 and Paper 2 is 2 hours and 2.5 hours, respectively, and the medium for both papers is English. 

Pay Scale 

If you are appointed as Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) under the Housing & Urban Development Department, you will get your salary as per Level 12 of ORSP (Odisha Revised Scales of Pay) Rules, 2017, whose basic starts from ₹56,100. The salary you will get also includes dearness allowance, house rent allowance, medical allowance, and others.
