On August 5, 2026, the National Thermal Power Corporation Limited released a short notification for the recruitment of deputy managers for a total number of 135 vacancies for three different streams and invited eligible candidates to apply online. Out of the total positions, 40 are for each control & instrumentation and electrical, and 55 for mechanical.
The detailed notification is scheduled for release on August 6, 2026, which will carry the category-wise number of vacancies for each position, and all other details that are yet to be disclosed. Once they have released it, we will update the category-wise number of vacancies by creating a table.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the NTPC Limited Recruitment 2026 for the Deputy Manager position, you are required to meet the educational qualification, age limit, and experience. Refer to the listed points to check if you can apply for any of the three streams.
- You have pursued a BE/BTech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering from an AICTE-recognised institution with at least a 60% score if applying for Electrical; for Mechanical, the required qualification is a BE/BTech in Mechanical Engineering; and the same for Control & Instrumentation is a BE/BTech in Instrumentation Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, Electronics & Instrumentation, or Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
- You shouldn’t be younger than 21 years or older than 40 years as of the deadline of the application form submission; and
- You have at least 10 years of experience in the power sector (coal, gas, or lignite) in operation, maintenance, commissioning, erection, or engineering from a 200 MW or above power plant or project.
If you are above the age of 40 years but meet the educational qualification and experience, you can claim the age relaxation by providing the required documents to apply. The age relaxation is 3 years for OBC-NCL and 5 years for SC and ST.
Application Fee
To apply for the NTPC Limited Deputy Manager Recruitment 2026, you have to pay the application fee, which is expected to be 300 rupees. All female aspirants and male candidates who belong to Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Caste, Ex-servicemen, and persons with benchmark disability category may be exempted from the application fee payment.
The details regarding the application fee are all set to be available in the detailed notification. The deadline to pay it is the same as the application form submission due date. You can use a debit card, credit card, NET banking, or UPI in order to pay it. Ensure that you deposit the required amount by the deadline; otherwise, you won’t be able to apply for this recruitment drive.
Selection Process
The selection process for the recruitment of a deputy manager under NTPC Limited consists of screening or a computer-based test and a personal interview. If they receive the application form more than the expectations, then they will conduct the computer-based test; otherwise, shortlisting will take place based on the individual’s score in the qualifying degree and experience.
If you are shortlisted via shortlisting or a computer-based test, you will have to participate in the personal interview, which will take place in face-to-face mode. They will prepare the final selection list based on candidates’ performance in the personal interview and may also consider required experience if they don’t conduct the computer-based test.
Pay Scale
If you are appointed as Deputy Manager for any stream under the National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, you will get basic pay starting from ₹70,000 with industrial dearness allowance, house rent allowance or accommodation, medical facilities, a provident fund, gratuity, and other benefits, as per the company rules.
