UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist 2025 Notification

According to the UPSC calendar, the commission will release the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist (CGSE) (Preliminary) examination 2025 notification on 4 September 2024. The last date to apply for the UPSC Combined Geo-scientist (Preliminary) examination 2025 will be 24 September 2024. 

According to the commission, the one-day preliminary examinations will commence on 9 February 2025. The candidates who will clear the preliminary examinations will sit in the Main examinations scheduled on 21 June 2025.

Every year the commission conducts the combined geo-scientist examinations to recruit Group A geologists, Geophysicists, chemists, and many more.  It’s a national-level exam, where candidates go through three stages – Preliminary examinations, Mains Examinations, and Interviews to get finally selected for the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist recruitment drive. 

Eligibility for the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist 2025 Exam 

The candidates who wish to apply for the upcoming UPSC Combined Geo-scientist 2025 prelims examinations notifications must meet the following eligibility criteria:


  • Applicants should be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan.
  • Applicants who are Tibetan refugees and come to India with the intent of permanently residing in India can also apply for the UPSC CGSE 2025 examinations.
  • Applicants who migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Eastern African countries, or Vietnam can also apply for the UPSC CGSE 2025 prelim examinations.
