CDS 2 2024 Notification
UPSC conducts the Combined Defence Service (CDS) Examinations twice yearly to select talented candidates for enrollment in the Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and officers training.
Every year millions of students sit the examinations to fulfill their dream of working in the second-largest military force in the world. The first exam was already commenced on 21 April 2024, the candidates who wish to apply can register for the second CDS examination.

The vacancy details and seats will be disclosed in the notification of the CDS (II) 2024 examinations. UPSC will conduct the second CDS examination on 1 September 2024. After the exam, the selected candidates would join the respective defense academy as commissioned officers.
The candidates will be selected based on their performances in written test and interview of the examinations.

Eligibility for CDS 2 2024
The aspirants should ensure that they meet all the following eligibility requirements to apply for the 2024 CDS 2 Examinations:
Citizenships:
- Applicants with citizenship of India and Nepal can apply for the CDS 2 examinations.
- People who migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Eastern African countries can also apply for the examinations.
Age Limit:
- The age limit may vary according to the defense academy, but the upper age limit is 25 years.
Educational Qualification:
- Applicants should be graduates of any discipline from a recognized University or institute.
- Applicants who are in their final year of graduation and do not have any backlog in any semester can also apply for the CDS examinations.
Application Fee for CDS 2 2024 Application
The applicant would need to pay the following application fee when they apply for the CDS 2 2024 examinations as per their category:

The applicants can pay online or opt for cash payment to pay the application fee for the CDS examinations. The candidates who went for cash payment can download the generated Pay in-slip from the application portal and make the payment at the counter of the SBI branch near them.
Steps to apply for the CDS 2 2024
Once the commission releases the CDS 2 2024 notification, the aspirants can apply for the CDS 2 examinations through the following steps:
- Go to the official website of UPSC at https://upsc.gov.in/
- Navigate to the Examination notifications tab in the right-hand corner of the webpage.
- Next, find the CDS (II) 2024 Examination notification and click on its application link.
- Next, register yourself on the OTR platform if this is your first time on the website. The OTR registration is registered once in a lifetime, however, you can modify it within 7 days of your first final application for examination on the UPCS.
- Then, proceed to the application link for CDS II examinations.
- Now, enter all the required details, such as educational qualification, exam center preference, etc.
- Now, upload the scanned copies of your signature and photograph on the portal.
- Next, move to payment of the application fee if applicable.
- Make the payment through your preferred method to complete the application process for the CDS 2 2024 Examinations.
