The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is part of the central school autonomous organization which comes under the Ministry of Education, India. Recently, the organization has announced admission details for the Class 1 enrollment for the academic year 2024-25. Registration for the 2024-25 Class 1 admission began on 1 April 2024 on the official website of the KVS.

Eligibility Criteria for KVS Class 1 Admission 2024-25
Parents who wish to enroll their child in Kendriya Vidyalayas must meet the following eligibility criteria required for the candidates to apply for the 2024-25 Class 1 admissions in KVs:
- The applicant’s parents must be a citizen of India.
- The age criteria set by the KVS for the Class 1 admission is 5 years – 7 years.
There is an age relaxation for disabled children seeking admission in KVS class 1.
Documents required for the enrollment in 2024-25 KVS Class 1
The candidates need to have the following documents in hand to ensure smooth and successful application submission for the KVS class 1 admission for the upcoming academic year:
- Valid Email ID,
- Valid Mobile number,
- The child’s birth Certificate scanned copy,
- In case of an application under the Economic Weaker section, a government certificate is required,
- Children Aadhar Card
- Child’s scanned photograph,
- The transfer details of the parents/ grandparents whose service credentials are used in the application form,
- Resident Certificate
- Relationship proof of child with its guardian,
Seat Allocations for Class 1 KVS Admission 2024-25
KVS prioritizes central government employees’ kids and army personnel’s kids so they won’t get any problems with admission due to their transfer from one place to another. The KVS provides a Lottery system in which students who applied under the RTE Act get selected for admission to KVS schools.
Due to many quotas and reservations, KVS has distributed a certain percentage of seats among categories in the following manner:

The Single girl child also gets a preference in the KVS admission, the parents need to show the proof of a single girl child. Twin girls are also eligible for the single-girl child preference in KVS admission.
Steps to apply for the KVS Class 1 Admission 2024-25
Parents can follow the below steps to ensure smooth and quick application form submission:
- First, you need to register on the KVS online portal, if you are a first-time visitor.
- Go to the official website of the KVS at https://kvs.gov.in.
- Register yourself on the portal through your mobile number, email ID, and other required details to receive the login credentials for the portal on your email ID and mobile number.
- Next, log in to the portal to access the application form for the KVS Class 1 admission.
- Now, fill in the application form with the required details, such as child details, parents’ details, the KV school you prefer, etc.
- Next, upload your scanned documents and photographs in the preferred size.
- Now, once you have filled out the application form and uploaded the required documents, submit the application form on the portal after reviewing it.
- You will receive an application Code after the successful application for submission on the portal for the KVS class admission for the 2024-25 session.
Make sure you fill out the application form carefully as there is no option to edit the application for KVS admission once it is submitted.

Iam NareshKumar, ihave two children’s. They are studying 1st and 3rd class. Iwant 2 seets of 1st and 3rd classes in KV Hakimpet.
It was in news that the age criteria for class 1 is the completion of 6 years on or before 31st March 2025 as recommended in NEP 2020. But in this it is found that age criteria is 5 – 7 years. Hence, it may kindly be clarified if the age criteria for class 1 admission in 2024 – 25 is 5 – 7 years or 6 – 8 years.
