The government of India has offered many platforms and programs for youth to excel in their choice of career through government courses. Candidates who wish to become craft instructors and acquire the skills and knowledge can apply for CITS admission. 

The central government offers training for both skills and knowledge of Craft Instructors under the Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) program. The program aimed to provide skilled and industry-ready manpower to the industry to become proficient craft instructors for Industrial training institutes.

Enrollment in courses under CITS at National Training Institutes (NITs) and Institute of Training of Trainers (IToTs) for the academic session 2024-25 is granted through the All India Common Entrance Test (AICET). 

The candidates are also eligible to get admission to private colleges through this entrance test. The admission form to courses offered by central institutes under DGT is available on NIMI online admissions. 

NIMI Online Admission Form 2024-25

Candidates who wish to become Craft Instructors can apply for CITS admission on the NIMI online admission official website. The authorities have not released any notification about the NIMI admission form on the CITS website. 

In previous years, the authorities have released the admission notice with the required guidelines and instructions in June and the AICET examination was organized on 8 July 2023. 

Seeing the past trends, the candidates can expect the beginning of the online admission form application on 15 June 2024 and the AICTE exam on 21 July 2024. 

The authority will shortlist the candidates based on their performance in AICTE, the shortlisted candidates will go through an admission counseling process to get admitted in various CITS trades to the affiliated Central institutes (NITs & ITIs)  of the government of India. 

Eligibility Criteria for the CITS Application

The candidates need to meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for CITS admission:

Age Limit:

  • The minimum age of the candidates should be around a minimum of 18 years to ensure that candidates have reached certain maturity levels.
  • The authority has not kept any upper age limit for the candidates. 

Educational Qualification: 

  • The applicants must have obtained the ITI certificate from the National or State Council for Vocational Training. 
  •  The applicants must possess a degree or diploma in a relevant field from a recognized board of Technical Education/ University with at least one year of experience. 

 

Exclusion:

  • Candidates who possess Craftsmen of Excellence (CoE) certificates are not eligible to apply for the CITS admissions.

Application Fee for the CITS Admission 2024-25

The candidates have to pay the following application fee while applying for the 2024-25 CITS Admission as per their category:

The candidates can pay the application fee through their preferred online method during the application form submission. Remember, the fees can change as the authorities have not issued any notification for this year’s CITS admission.

Steps to apply for the CITS Admission

The candidates willing to enroll for the CITS courses can follow the below steps to apply for this year’s admission:

  • Go to the official website of NIMI at https://nimionlineadmission.in/
  • Locate the CITS admission application link for the 2024-25 session and click on the link.
  • Next, register as a new candidate and get the login credentials for the portal.
  • Now, access the application form through your login credentials. 
  • Next, enter all the required details on the application form carefully, such as education qualification, communication details, etc.
  • Next, review the entered details before locking the details and moving on to the next stage.
  • Next, upload the scanned passport-size photograph and signature along with the documents that support your claims in the application. 
  • Now, move to the payment stage and pay the application fee as per your category through your preferred online method. 
  • After the successful transactions, your application is completed, and you will receive a confirmation message on the screen.
  • Next, save or take a printout of the submitted application form for future use.
