WBCSC Principal Recruitment 2024
The WBCSC invites online applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the posts of Principal in different State-aided West Bengal colleges except the colleges with minority status. The commission will recruit through direct recruitment.
According to the notification, the vacancy of the posts has not been officially revealed yet, the authority will release the vacancy cut-off and vacant position before the publication merit panel under the WBCSC recruitment process.

WBCSC Principal Recruitment Selection Process & Pay Scale 2024
The eligible applicants will be shortlisted for the interview (direct recruitment) based on their academic scores, educational qualifications, and experience.
The WBCSC will follow a transparent selection process based on the qualification and credible methodology analysis of the academic scoring system based on UGC guidelines and the performance of the candidates in the interview.
According to the notification, the selected candidates will receive entry-level pay under the UGC guidelines, Level 14 (₹1,44,200/-) with special allowances on joining.
WBCSC Principal Recruitment Eligibility 2024

Age Limit:
- Applicants’ minimum age for the application is 40 years on the 1 January 2024.
- The upper age limit for the applicants should be 55 years on 1 January 2024.
- The upper age limit is relaxed for 5 years (SC/ ST), 3 years (OBC-NCL), and 10 years (differently-able categories) under the State government guidelines.
Educational Qualification and Experience:
- The applicants must possess a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks and a Ph.D degree from a recognized University/ institution.
- The applicants must have 15 years of experience as an Assistant Professor or Professor of teaching/ Research in Universities, institutions, and colleges.
- The applicants must have at least 10 research papers published in UGC-listed journals or peer-reviewed.
- The applicants should at least achieve a 110 research score in the methodology for University and College teachers for calculating the research and academic score under UGC regulations.
