According to the 2009 Right to Education Act, every child has the right to get mandatory education. The act of RTE went into effect in Rajasthan on 1 April 2010, under which private schools must provide free admission on 25% of total entry-level seats to children who come from weaker sections and disadvantaged groups of the state.
The application for this year’s RTE admission in private schools in Rajasthan has begun from 3 April 2024 and will continue till 21 April 2024.

The online lottery system is followed for seats in private schools across the state, which will commence on 23 April 2024.
This year, the state government has extended the classes under RTE from class 8th to class 12th. The government expects more than 2 lakh admissions of students in pre-primary and class 1 this year.
Eligibility Criteria for the Rajasthan RTE Admissions 2024-25
Parents can check the following eligibility criteria before applying for the Rajasthan RTE Admissions 2024-25:
Age Limit:
- Children over three years of age, and less than 4 years old are eligible for the Pre-Primary admission.
- Children over six years of age, and not more than 7 years are eligible for the class 1 admission.
Income and Category:
- Children whose family belongs to the weaker section, or special backward class can apply for the RTE Rajasthan admission.
- BPL card holders, widows, and SC/ST cast parents can apply for their children’s admission under RTE 2024 admission across Rajasthan.
- Children who are orphaned, disabled, HIV-infected children/parents, and cancer-diagnosed children/parents.
- The annual income level of the family should be Rs 2.5 lakhs or less.
