The eligibility criteria for the post of Clerk in Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court in terms of educational qualification and age limit is available below.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must hold a university degree, with preference for Law graduates.
  • They should have passed the Government Commercial Certificate Examination or equivalent, or hold a Government Certificate in Computer Typing Basic Course or I.T.I. for English Typing with a speed of 40 w.p.m or above.
  • Proficiency in computer operation, including Word Processor in Windows and Linux, and in M.S. Office, Wordstar7, and Open Office Org are required. 

Age Limit: 

  • The minimum age limit is 18 years, with a maximum age limit of 38 years for General category aspirants.
  • The maximum age limit is 43 years for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, or Special Backward Class candidates.
  • There is no maximum age limit for the High Court/Government employees applying through the proper channel.

Bombay High Court Clerk Application Fee 2024

Candidates are required to pay a registration fee of ₹200/- before filling out the application form for recruitment of Clerk under the BHC, one has to pay the required amount using “SBI Collect,” an online gateway facility. Upon successful payment, applicants will receive an alphanumeric reference number, which will be filled into the fee details section at the time of application submission.

Selection process for the post of Clerk under the Bombay High Court consists of three stages, which are Written Exam, Typing Test and Viva Voce.

  1. Written Exam:
    • Mode: Offline
    • Duration: 60 minutes
    • Questions Type: Objective 
    • Maximum Marks: 90
    • Total Questions: 90
    • Sections:
      • Marathi Grammar, construction of sentence, and usage of words (10 questions, 10 marks)
      • English Spelling, Grammar, construction of sentence, and usage of words (20 questions, 20 marks)
      • General Knowledge (10 questions, 10 marks)
      • General Intelligence (20 questions, 20 marks)
      • Arithmetic (20 questions, 20 marks)
      • Computer (10 questions, 10 marks)
    • Marking Scheme:
      • Correct Response: 1 Mark 
      • Incorrect Response: 0 Mark
    • Medium: Except for Marathi language related questions, all other questions will be in English.
  2. Typing Test:
    • Mode: Computer-Based
    • Duration: 10 minutes
    • Passage Length: Approximately 400 words
    • Total Marks: 20
    • Medium: English
  3. Viva Voce:
    • Mode: Face-to-face 
    • Total Marks: 40

Eligible candidates who qualify the Written Exam will be called for the Typing Test, which will be followed by Viva Voce.
