CGPSC Judicial Services Eligibility 2024

Eligibility criteria to apply for the Judiciary Examination 2024 for the post of Civil Judge (Entry Level) in the Chhattisgarh Lower Judicial Service in terms of educational qualification and age is available below.

  • Educational Qualification: A candidate must have completed 3 year LLB or 5 year BA LLB from a recognised university.
  • Age Limit:  The age of the applicant should not be less than 21 years and not more than 35 years, the upper age limit for SC ST and OBC-NCL candidates is 40 years.

CGPSC Civil Judge Application Fee 2024

To apply for the post of Civil Judge in Chhattisgarh Lower Judicial Services, an applicant has to pay a application/processing fee of ₹40 along with GST using the one of the provided payment gateway. In case the applicant is not a native of CG, he/she will have to pay an additional ₹400 as an examination fee.

  • Marking Scheme: Each question carries 1 mark.
  • Sections: Single paper covering basic knowledge of law.
  • Medium: English and Hindi

Mains:

  • Mode: Offline 
  • Duration: 3 Hours for Each Paper
  • Question Type: Descriptive 
  • Marks: Total 100 marks (40 marks for Paper 1 & 2, 10 marks each for translation papers)
  • Sections:
    • Paper 1: Framing of Issues & Writing of Judgement in Civil Cases
    • Paper 2: Framing of Charges & Writing of Judgement in Criminal Cases
    • Paper 3: English to Hindi Translation
    • Paper 4: Hindi to English Translation
  • Medium: English and Hindi

Interview:

  • Mode: Face-to-face
  • Marks: 15 marks
  • Medium: English / Hindi 

Candidates who will apply will be called for Prelims, which will be followed by Mains and Interview. The final selection list for Civil Judge will be prepared on the basis of candidates’ performance in the last two stages.
